A New Design for the Neckartor Phone Centre

The telephone support centre jobs offered newly developed fourth floor of the ADAC centre at Neckartor would be the dream of any call centre employee. The conversion of these former storage and living areas to 200 square metres of office space was completed in April. These new offices offer a bright, friendly working environment. Heikaus Raumgestaltung in Mundelsheim, who cooperated with ADAC for many other objects as well, was once again commissioned with interior design, implementation, lighting design and project management. The colour range used includes the ADAC Corporate Colors of white, yellow and grey and was designed by Ippolito & Fleitz Group.

Because telephone support personnel must be available for their customers around the clock, special acoustic requirements had to be considered. In these offices, customer conversations can be conducted without any distracting background noise. For this, an acoustic ceiling, acoustic furniture surfaces and acoustic partitions between work stations were used to provide quiet working conditions even in an open-plan office.

The bright and friendly atmosphere in these new offices for ADAC-member support was created by installing 13 large windows into the metal façade, as well as by using white as the dominant colour for the interior colour scheme. Only the supporting columns were painted a bright yellow to provide colourful highlights. The dark-grey carpet serves as a clear but interesting optical contrast to these two colours.

A special feature is the roof terrace that is separated from this floor by only one step. It was built in fine Bangkirai wood, and is planted in geometrical patters with boxwood trees around the fringes to create an attractive, inviting picture. Taking a break here with a cup of tea from the tea kitchen is always great fun. The lighting was also carefully planned. Reflector grids with linear luminescent grids, NV spots and recessed ceiling lamps, including emergency lighting, also provide a very comfortable working atmosphere.
