For his shop´s move to Dechant-Fein-Straße in Leverkusen, Bernd Schommer, the owner of traditional jeweller and optician Kessler, charged Mundelsheim company HEIKAUS with development of the design concept and implementation of the construction measures.

The material and colour concepts create a pleasant, friendly atmosphere on more than 100 square meters. Light crèmes and whites create a calm basic mood complemented effectively with bronze and gold nuances. They underline the value of the presented jewellery and goldsmith craft. They are found throughout the colour concept, as well as in the presentation cubes covered with golden laminate material, the gently shimmering cross-base seats in the consulting zone and the extraordinary diamond pattern of the walls. The resilient hickory-wood-look floor provides additional warmth while also representing the traditional commitment of a craftsman to the precious metals he processes. Bronze mirrors and glass sliding elements extraordinarily combine design and function and generate their very own dynamics.

White-painted consulting tables, display cases and wall presentation define the room and clearly structure it in the different range areas for jewellery, optical devices and goldsmith´s workshop with their straight design and placement. The combination of cashier´s desk and display case with integrated coffee bar is particularly well done. Here, customers can have a cup of cappuccino while watching the watchmaker´s workshop and experiencing the craft close up. An additional waiting lounge also invites visitors to linger.

In the consulting zone, the Moooi pendulum lamps with steel spring strips and more than 150 LED cells per lamp provide accents. They are suspended from the ceiling in different sizes and heights. The ceiling as such takes up the consulting zone´s shape in a higher, offset area to visually separate it from the shop areas that are mainly dedicated to the presentation of goods. A high-pile crème-coloured carpet in the same shape and size as the soft light from a cove lighting further increase this effect to create a comfortable, personal atmosphere for conversation.

The lighting concept captivates with a matching combination of direct and indirect light. Here, too, the models STELLA II and GAIA are part of HEIKAUS´ own lamp collection Professional Retail Light. They perfectly complement the lighting from the display cases, which was implemented with light and energy-efficient LEDs, and considerably contribute to the harmonious room ambience.
