Kirsch - Optics
Open and friendly, inviting and attractive: after a four week lasting conversion the specialised store in optics and hearing acoustics KIRSCH in Holtenauer Street, Kiel, received a classic-modern design, which impresses with selected material- and colour combinations.
With its pronounced black and white contrast, the display windows catch the eyes of the passers-by. The black coloured face of the building and the ceiling height windows enhance the predominantly white interior of the premises and the illuminated company logo to radiate.
The sales area comprising of 120 square metres of which all of them were designed to effectively use the space are divided into an optic area and a hearing acoustics area. The straight-line design concept with its reduced colouring and style is realized as far as the display windows: white coated cubic presentation elements allow room for the exhibited spectacle models or seasonal decoration.
In the interior of the premises too, mainly orthogonal shapes and, cubes and light shades of colour are predominant, like the showcase in a wall niche or the cash desk designed as a bar. In the consultation area the two U-shaped tables are connected by means of a shag pile carpet in a warm crème shade which form a visual bridge between the rustic floor designed to look like wood and the modern new furniture.
Besides the classic colours black and white the colour gold plays a significant part setting an accent to emphasize the quality and range of the premium spectacles. The golden colour breaks up the clear black-white colour composition and has an effect in the room on the lounge furniture as cover material and as a metallic-gold wall coating up to the adjoining rooms.
A partly open refraction and a window into the workshop open the room and give him a lavish width by means of the elongated field of vision. At the same time, ingenious perspectives are generated by means of artful placement of the presentation furniture and suspended lights arranged in an offset way. This lets the room appear consistently different, depending on the position of the customer. In combination with the fancy presentation of the spectacles on a soft string curtain an individual unique flair is generated.
Additionally, spotlights and double gimballed recessed spotlights create a harmonic atmosphere. The perfect illumination of the merchandise in the display windows as well as the presentation furniture is guaranteed by busbar spotlights and integrated low-voltage spotlights.
Special importance was attached also to the adjoining rooms. Mosaic tiles were laid in the lavatories, and next to a wall completely painted in metallic gold a wall-size mirror enlargens the room and enforces the classy atmosphere additionally. The completely soundproof separate audiology room complies with the latest state of the art of modern audiology. Additionally furnished with shag pile carpet flooring the silence and privacy necessary for an individual customer consulting is guaranteed. Also here the colour gold is used to set an accent: by means of the creative break between straight-line design and opulence a neo-baroque wallpaper by Ulf Moritz emphasizes the elegance of the premises up to the last detail.
