Comfortable ambiance following remodel

The Vöcklabruck Speciality optical store OPTIKER MÜHLBAUER on Dr. Anton-Bruckner-Straße is known and popular beyond its immediate region. This is due on the one hand to its full range of eyewear, hearing aids and contact lenses, and on the other hand for its polished customer service. This broad range of services, for example, includes a free long-term service, free vision screenings and a Sunday emergency service. The Mühlbauer line includes all customer target groups from ladies and men to children.

In early March 2009 the time came: after six weeks of remodelling, Andrea Pohn-Mühlbauer and Christian Mühlbauer were able to welcome their customers into the newly designed store interior with a 68 m² sales area, for which the design, implementation and lighting concept were undertaken by Heikaus Raumgestaltung (Interior Design) of Mundelsheim.

The first impression is a feeling best described by the three attributes cosiness, cheerfulness and transparency. Primarily the carefully planned use of materials contributes to this friendly appearance, the well balanced colour climate and the perfectly balanced lighting arrangement.

In the shelving area white painted surfaces alternate with dark brown wood décor and a natural stone wall with coquina facing brick provide a dominating visual accent. The red and orange seating forms selective contrasts to this. In addition, tendril images on the walls and a ceiling fresco mix things up in a decorative way.

The Heikaus designers relied on consistently linear furniture, broken up merely by the rough texture of the natural stone wall.

A ceiling height photomural behind the registers and a large flat screen monitor for infomercials, provide particularly appealing eye-catchers.

Gimbal CDM-T spotlights combined with recessed HITPAR16 ceiling lamps produce a well-balanced brightness, and in the display window products are highlighted by track spotlights to promote sales.

Light-coloured Amtico Stratica flooring seamlessly adapts to the successful overall picture.
